PRESERVING PATRIOTISM AND THE MEMORY OF OUR NATIONS VETERANS

On an annual basis, the Elk River-Rogers VFW Post will donate American Flags to local schools, churches, businesses and individuals.  Every Memorial Day, we place Flags and Bronze Star markers on ALL the Veterans Graves in the Elk River and Rogers area.

We conduct numerous Patriotic Programs in the local schools… Such as Patriotic Art, Voice of Democracy and Patriot’s Pen. On Memorial Day and Veterans Day, we visit with students and teachers to educate them on the sacrifices Our Nations Veterans have made for the Freedoms of this Great Nation.

On a monthly basis, members of Elk River-Rogers VFW visit with Veterans at the St. Cloud VA Medical Center, Minneapolis VA Medical Center, the Minneapolis Veterans Home and local Nursing Homes. In addition to this, we donate to many Veteran related programs on the State and National levels.

On Patriotic Holidays/Observances, the Parking Lot at the Veterans Memorial Youth Sports Complex displays an ‘Avenue of Flags’.

THE ELK RIVER VETERANS HONOR/COLOR GUARD

The Elk River-Rogers VFW has joined with the Elk River American Legion to form the Elk River Veterans Honor and Color Guard. This group of dedicated Veterans perform Veteran Funeral Rituals and graveside services for ALL deceased Veterans. They also visit schools, march in parades and on Memorial Day… They perform the Memorial Day Services at ALL the local cemeteries.
